Sugarloaf Vineyards borders about 1200 feet of Lake of the Ozarks shoreline and is a magnificent venue for  leisurely kayaking.  Right at the end of the Big Niangua arm of the Lake (just where the river ends) you'll enjoy calmer waters and wildlife sightseeing from water-level, sit-on-top style kayaks.  About a quarter mile up is the Onyx cave, large enough to kayak a short distance into.  Sometimes people actually take their pontoons into the cave!  Or you can kayak to the left and around the bend is Ha Ha Tonka State park.  Our Kayaks rent for $25.00 for a single and $35.00 for a tandem for one-half day (4 hours).  Or try the newest craze, paddle-boarding.  Two to three hours of kayaking is plenty of fun but we add the extra time so you can beach your kayak and have a picnic on the river, fish, or just leisurely paddle without worrying about beating the clock back to shore.  The single kayaks have molded in back seats and the tandems have fold-down seats for comfort during your outing. If you choose a tandem, pick the back seat because the person in front won't know whether you're paddling or not; just be sure to put your paddle in the water if they happen to turn around and look!

Our sit-on-top style kayaks are great for all levels of skill, from beginner to advanced.  If you have never kayaked before (or if you would like a refresher) we give you a quick lesson on paddling technique and also you'll have a nice map to take with you showing the location of Onyx cave, Ha Ha Tonka State Park, swimming holes and great places to beach and picnic along the river.

If you love to fish and don't have access to a boat no problem!  Fish right from our kayaks and go places where boats can't go such as the shallow arms and coves of the Niangua River.

Kayaking is also a wonderful team building event for your employees.  It's a fun, leisurely activity promoting comradeship amongst your team members.
