Sugarloaf Vineyards borders about 1200 feet of Lake of the Ozarks shoreline and is a magnificent venue for  leisurely kayaking.  Right at the end of the Big Niangua arm of the Lake (just where the river ends) you'll enjoy calmer waters and wildlife sightseeing from water-level, sit-on-top style kayaks.  About a quarter mile up is the Onyx cave, large enough to kayak a short distance into.  Sometimes people actually take their pontoons into the cave!  Or you can kayak to the left and around the bend is Ha Ha Tonka State park.  Our Kayaks rent for $25.00 for a single and $35.00 for a tandem for one-half day (4 hours).  Or try the newest craze, paddle-boarding.  Two to three hours of kayaking is plenty of fun but we add the extra time so you can beach your kayak and have a picnic on the river, fish, or just leisurely paddle without worrying about beating the clock back to shore.  The single kayaks have molded in back seats and the tandems have fold-down seats for comfort during your outing. If you choose a tandem, pick the back seat because the person in front won't know whether you're paddling or not; just be sure to put your paddle in the water if they happen to turn around and look! When you return from your kayak excursion stop by the Sugarloaf Vineyard outdoor tasting pavilion for some great wine or have a Hickory smoked BBQ sandwich, Panini, pizza or other fare.
